This is an opportunity to form a more productive news group in the
science of acoustics, a long-standing branch of physics. It is proposed to
be named "sci.physics.acoustics". We need your support to make it happen!

What is needed at this instant are constructive comments of support
posted right here by any of you that have an interest to do so. There has
existed a cadre of participants here at alt.sci.physics.acoustics that would
likely move to s.p.a. were it to be formed. Many of us have felt that we
need the sci category to more universally serve the field of scientific
acoustics.

So speak up now here with your inputs.

Thanks,

Angelo Campanella

I strongly support the establishment of sci.physics.acoustics for the
scientific acoustics community, and will certainly join in with the others
who move there.
Alt.sci.physics.acoustics, which was good when I first joined 10 or more
years ago, has gradually deteriorated as it became more widely known and
began to receive too many borderline or irrelevant postings. On my part
this has led to some loss of enthusiasm for it and irregular logging in.

The proposed group will bring a fresh impetus to high level interaction
between professional acousticians, both those who contribute and those who
are content to read and learn

I totally agree with Geoff, what is it that we need to do Angelo? is
there a target number of replies we need to achieve?
